CatalyseR Student & Parent App · Last updated: 21 May 2026

1Who we are

This app and website (collectively, “the Service”) are operated by CatalyseR Eduventures. The Service is provided to currently-enrolled students of CatalyseR coaching institutes and their parents or legal guardians. It is not a general-purpose social network and is not open to the public.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@catalyser.in.

2What we collect — and why

We collect only the information needed to run a coaching institute. Specifically:

WhatWhy
Name, roll number, class, batch, photo To identify the student in attendance, test, and progress records
Parent / guardian mobile number For attendance alerts, fee reminders, and the parent login
Attendance, test marks, homework submissions Core academic record — the reason the app exists
Push notification token (FCM) To deliver alerts to the right device. Anonymous identifier; resets if the app is reinstalled
App-lock PIN (if you enable it) Stored only on your device as a salted hash. Never sent to our server
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) Stack traces and device model when the app crashes. No personal data is included

We do not collect: contacts, SMS, call logs, browsing history outside this app, location, advertising identifiers, or financial information.

3Permissions the Android app asks for

4Who we share data with

Nobody outside CatalyseR institute staff and the student’s own parents / guardians. We do not sell, rent, or trade student data. We do not run advertising in the app.

The only third-party services that touch your data are:

5How long we keep data

Academic records (attendance, marks) are kept for as long as the student is enrolled, plus a further 3 years for issuing certificates and answering follow-up queries. After that, the record is deleted or anonymised. Push tokens are deleted as soon as you uninstall the app. Crash reports are kept for 90 days.

6Children’s privacy

CatalyseR coaches school-age students. For any user under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction), the parent or legal guardian must authorise the institute to create the student’s account. Parents retain the right to inspect and request deletion of their child’s data at any time.

7Your rights

You (or your parent/guardian, if you are a minor) can:

To exercise any of these, email support@catalyser.in from the address linked to the student’s account, or speak to your CatalyseR branch directly. We respond within 30 days.

8Security

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are stored as one-way salted hashes — we cannot read your password even if we wanted to. The optional App Lock PIN is stored as a salted SHA-256 hash on the device and never transmitted. Despite our best efforts, no online service can guarantee perfect security; we will notify affected users promptly if we ever discover a breach that put their data at risk.

9Changes to this policy

We update this page when our practices change. Significant changes are announced in the app and on the institute notice board at least 14 days before they take effect.
